WEMT Course Outline
The Year 6 WEMT course is carefully designed to prepare students for the high academic standards expected at this stage of their education. Students are introduced to high-level content in writing, reading comprehension, numeracy, and thinking skills. The advanced curriculum prepares them for the Selective High School Placement test, and provides a solid foundation for their further education.
WEMT Course Content
Due to the nature of our advanced curriculum, this course will require a significant weekly commitment to module work in English, Maths, and Thinking Skills.
Writing modules teach the most efficient methods for organising and structuring writing tasks, with a focus on developing critical thinking and reasoning skills.
English lessons will focus on reading skills, comprehension, and answering multiple-choice questions.​
Maths lessons are essential for developing a thorough understanding of mathematical theories, principles, and formulas.​
Thinking Skills lessons will cover a variety of practical, challenging, and stimulating questions in mathematical reasoning, problem solving, and critical thinking.

STTC COURSE
STTC Course Outline
The Term 2 STTC (Selective Trial Test Course) consists of 2 weekly trial test sessions and student will continue practicing various challenging exam-style questions under the exam conditions.
STTC Course Content
Students will attempt a trial test each week and subsequently review the questions + solutions with our teachers, focusing more heavily on the difficult questions.
There are two tests each week – Mathematical Reasoning + Thinking Skills every second week, and Reading + Writing on the alternate weeks. There is an additional fortnightly Vocabulary test for which students are expected to memorise the provided vocab lists.

Students’ test results will be available on Cyberschool immediately after each session. Their writing test submissions will also be marked and the reports made available on Cyberschool as soon as possible.
